Rizziconi Energia, which pays particular attention to compliance and implementation of sound environmental management policy, has adopted the best technologies available to minimise and comply with the criteria of current legislation on environmental impact and in particular on the issue of emissions.

Combined-cycle technology is currently considered to be the best solution with respect to environmental compatibility and protection of public health. In addition to complying with strict criteria on gaseous emissions the plant was also designed to operate below the statutory limits regarding noise emissions (use of sound-absorbing panels) and the extraction and discharge of liquids (closed water cycle).

Special attention was given to the use of one fundamental resource in particular, that of water: the plant is equipped with a Zero Liquid Discharge system that allows all the water used in the process to be reused, completely eliminating the need to discharge externally.

Emission levels (source: decree of authorization)

    • NOx Less than 40 mg/Nm³ (maximum allowed 50)
    • CO Less than 24 mg/Nm³ (maximum allowed 24)
    • SOx Zero (unnoticeable signs)
    • Dusts Zero (unnoticeable signs)
    • Other polluting substances Totally absent
